چکیده
Snow plays a crucial role in the climate. In particular, snow controls surface temperature and stabilizes energy budget due to its spectral characteristics. However, can be affected by climate change. If cover extent (SCE) diminishes global warming, rate of introducing radiance increases because non-snow areas absorb more solar radiance. Therefore, it is highly important accurately detect snow-covered areas. this paper, we develop an algorithm for deriving daily map East Asia using Geostationary-Korean Multi-Purpose SATellite-2A (GEO-KOMPSAT-2A, GK-2A) imagery. After processes cloud masking misclassification removal are conducted, threshold with consideration characteristics geostationary satellite applied normalized difference index (NDSI), generated utilizing stacking process. case mask, angle-time variation displacement clouds proposed study were used enhance accuracy detection. For quantitative validation, F1 score was 0.89 Landsat-8 0.79 interactive multisensor ice mapping system (IMS). addition, when calculated from IMS compared, correlation reached 0.91 December 2020 January 2021.

Multitemporal snow cover mapping in mountainous terrain for Landsat climate data record development
a r t i c l e i n f o A multitemporal method to map snow cover in mountainous terrain is proposed to guide Landsat climate data record (CDR) development. The Landsat image archive including MSS, TM, and ETM + imagery was used to construct a prototype Landsat snow cover CDR for the interior northwestern United States. Landsat snow cover CDRs are designed to capture snow-covered area (SCA) variab...
متن کاملA New Method for Sub-pixel Snow-cover Mapping Using Hyperspectral Imagery – First Results
Most methods applied for snow-cover mapping classify each pixel into snow and no-snow. On the other side, a sub-pixel method classifies snow into several coverage classes or onto a continuous scale. If frequent mapping is required, only low and medium spatial resolution sensors are available (200-1000 m range). Classifying pixels into snow and no-snow only may be sufficient for largescale appli...
متن کاملFractional Snow Cover Mapping from FY-2 VISSR Imagery of China
Daily fractional snow cover (FSC) products derived from optical sensors onboard low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites are often discontinuous, primarily due to prevalent cloud cover. To map the daily cloud-reduced FSC over China, we utilized clear-sky multichannel observations from the first-generation Chinese geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites (namely, the FY-2 series) by taking advantage of thei...
